YRC Freight Performance Solutions Engineer in Overland Park, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY

The Performance Solutions Engineer will work with internal clients on the implementation of appropriate performance solutions. Solutions may include changes to business processes, job and organization structure changes, implementation of performance scorecards, or change assurance methods and tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Apply a structured methodology to create and manage actionable deliverables for strategic initiatives; which may include change management programs, as well as other cross-functional or complex projects.

  2. Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, cross-functional project teams, 3rd-party resources (such as vendors or consultants), and others to carry out efforts.

  3. Utilize existing tools and methods, ensuring the project-specific solution developed is within the scope and boundaries of available tools and deliverables.

  4. Regularly communicate progress to management and stakeholders

  5. Use analytical thinking to anticipate and avert potential issues, understand data, contribute to effective reports, and implement control plans.

  6. Share lessons learned and leading practices.

  7. Identify opportunities for process or system improvements, assist with solution design/development, integrate activities into overall project plans and project governance, evaluate and ensure user readiness, define and measure success metrics, monitor change progress, assess change capacity concerns, document processes, and assess data.*

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.

  2. Three (3) years of experience in change management, process improvement, or project management.

  3. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening.

  4. Demonstrated organizational abilities.

  5. Demonstrated analytical skills.

  6. Strong influencing, coaching, and facilitative skills.

  7. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and work collaboratively with and through others at all levels in an organization.

  8. Demonstrated ability to affect cultural change in moderate to difficult circumstances.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.

  2. Experience with process reengineering and/or organizational design.

  3. Knowledge and understanding of freight movement management processes/logistics

WORKING CONDITIONS


This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
