JOB SUMMARY

As an embedded resource located at the customer’s business, develops, establishes, and maintains relationships and partnerships with major accounts to meet or exceed revenue and profit goals. Gain understanding of customer’s business model and supply chain needs, develop shipping solutions using YRC Freight’s portfolio of services and resolving issues in support of customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Actively pursue and qualify valued business opportunities. Drive revenue growth and increase market share through business partnerships, collaboration, strategic planning.

  2. Manage new and established account development for continued revenue and profit growth. Define and propose specific approaches to meet and exceed customer needs.

  3. Identify situations requiring effective negotiation and maintain positive client relationships throughout any issue resolution process.

  4. Develop client solutions that meet clients’ needs and increase market share and profitability for YRC Freight.

  5. Develop and maintain knowledge of services, pricing programs and sales tools.

  6. Identify and match opportunities that utilize electronic commerce and other specialized services in the portfolio regarding customer solutions.

  7. Educate customers about the various services offered and work with the outside sales force to enhance the customer relationship and secure additional business.

  8. Negotiate pricing programs with new clients to gain consistent revenue flow while protecting profitable margin.

  9. Provide key communication links to the customer.

  10. Researches and obtains resolutions for a variety of customer problems and issues, involving appropriate resources, departments, and terminals as appropriate.

  11. Implement successful selling strategies/techniques.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Three (3) years of experience in sales.

  3. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  4. Proven effective prospecting, presentation and closing skills. Strong territory management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in transportation, business or marketing.

  2. Experience in the transportation industry with deep knowledge of operations and logistics.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
