YRC Freight Marketing Branding Manager in Akron, Ohio

JOB SUMMARY

Provide leadership and support to the YRCW companies marketing and sales efforts. Develop strategies, creative and effective marketing material for new/existing products and markets, as well as sales campaigns, to support each operating company’s growth strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* *

  1. Develop business and marketing plans for assigned services & products, sales plans and implementation strategies.

  2. Manage assigned campaigns and go to market strategies from development through ROI.

  3. Help plan and manage brand strategies and marketing communications such as external newsletter content, point-of-sale development, service knowledge documentation, promotions, and presentations that will culminate in successful marketing initiatives.

  4. Evaluate, recommend and provide market research and information to assist in ensuring a timely and progressive approach to the Marketing department’s activities.

  5. Participate in analysis, promotions, public relations, and advertising associated with assigned products/services; assess success against plan.

  6. Work closely with sales, engineering and operations as needed.

  7. Recommend new and better ways to use data to improve business, contribute to marketing strategy, develop marketing plans, and enhance communications to customers

  8. Use customer and competitor insights and surveys to find growth opportunities, improve strategic plans, and increase effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives.

  9. Participate in training for field and customer service personnel on product/service introductions or enhancements, as well as new marketing/sales campaigns.

  10. Negotiate with other internal departments in order to agree on new products or developments within set time-scales and budgets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related area.

  2. Seven (7) years’ experience in the development, launching and management of marketing plans for a product or service line within a business to business environment.

  3. Dynamic verbal and interpersonal skills to include the ability to make presentations and to interface effectively with all levels of management and staff._


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* *

  1. MBA in marketing or management.

  2. Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in marketing.

  3. Two (2) years of experience in the transportation industry.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs. of supplies and materials is required.
