YRC Freight Director - Properties in Overland Park, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY

Leads company’s real estate efforts to effectively and efficiently acquire, manage, and dispose of owned and leased properties, including environmental compliance. Responsible for terminal and office facility maintenance programs & construction projects. Accountable for corporate environmental compliance programs for all field facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Direct real estate resources to ensure timely sales of excess properties, pursuit of non-traditional income sources, management of the leased property portfolio and corporate reporting requirements.

  2. Ensure that all of the regulations, procedures and documentation requirements of regulatory agencies are satisfied for all operating facilities. Ensure standards for construction & facility maintenance are consistent with industry standards.

  3. Direct properties resources for the design and execution of facility construction, relocation and maintenance projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, with legal and financial process controls consistent with company policies.

  4. Direct corporate environmental programs to maintain regulatory compliance for all operating companies and assist Legal Department with EPA Superfund projects. Provide field assistance for operation of regulated storage tank systems.

  5. Prepare and manage capital project and department operating budgets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, real estate, engineering or related field.

  2. Ten (10) years’ experience in industrial real estate property management or a related field, preferably in a corporate environment.

  3. Experience with construction, facility maintenance and environmental compliance.

  4. Excellent verbal and written communication and strong facilitation and negotiation skills.

  5. Experience in managing a staff.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Specific experience with transportation facilities a plus.

  2. MBA

WORKING CONDITIONS


This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
